Is your Nest Secure in the Rock ??

Is your Nest Secure in the Rock ??

When Balak called Balaam to Curse Israel, while they were camping in the wilderness, God stepped in the midst of these plans, and to make a long story short, God changed the Prophecy of Balak into a BLESSING for Israel, and then after the 3rd time, God even caused Balaam to Curse the nations around Israel… You can read the whole story between Numbers Chapters 22 to 24.

NOW: Why am I talking about this today..??

Well, God took me to Num 24:21-22 recently, and this is what it says:

Num 24:21-24  And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock. Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

And this reminded me of the parable Jesus told in Matt 7:24-27:

Build Your House on the Rock

Mat 7:24-27  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Where and in WHOM is your TRUST ??

And the question from these 2 scriptures is – in WHOM and/or in WHAT are we placing our Trust… ??

For the Kenites, have made their dwelling places within the Mountains, and they thought they were safe and secure in those mountains, and no one will be able to overcome them.

But in Balaam’s prophecy for them, God said clearly, you only depend on your physical strength, but another nation Asshur, will come and take you captive…!!!

But then Jesus closes His Sermon in Mat 7 – which is part of His the Sermon on the Mountain (see Matt 5 to 7) – and saying that whosoever will listen to and apply His teachings/sayings, are like a wise man, building his house on the Rock, and not on the sand..

Now comparing that to the Kenites, you would think but then the Kenites was wise, as they built their dwelling places amongst the rocks, and they were safe.  Even they themselves thought that too…!!!

But how do we then understand this prophecy of Balaam???

What Jesus was referring to wasn’t about building on a physical rock, and neither was Balaam’s prophecy, but instead it is all about building our dwelling place in God alone… placing our anchor of HOPE and our TRUST in HIM alone – the One who is called  The ROCK of all ages…!!!

Nahum also says in the midst of his prophetic word against Nineveh:

Nah 1:7  The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in Him.

And James says in James 1:25: But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed…!!

In Closing:

Therefore, decide for yourself today – In Whom do you Trust, and where are your place of safety, and what is your true HOPE..?!?

For, if your trust is in man, or in money / wealth, the economy, and even your country, family, physical strength, health, etc… be sure that your world will be shaken, and your foundations will crack sometime or the other… You can not depend on anything on the earth. For things come, and they go. Business come and they go. Companies that we’ve known for decades, have recently closed their doors….and things are changing rapidly…People die, one nation overcome another, and so the world carries on…

BUT IF  your trust is in the Lord God – the CREATOR of Heaven and Earth, and you are following His Word, applying His principles, and obeying His Voice, and His calling and purpose He has planned for you…, no matter your circumstances, no matter what is going on around you, God knows that your TRUST is settled in Him, and He will help you.!!!

Then you will be overcoming your situation, and you will make it through., and you will come out stronger on the other side…

Hold on to Him…!!!

Hallelu’Yah..!!!

Our GLORIOUS HOLY SPIRIT immediately reminded me of JER. 17:5-8 – “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength… ”
    7) “BLESSED is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads oit its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but it’s leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Amen & Amen!!! HALLELUJAH!!! PRAISE GOD!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! We LOVE YOU LORD!!!

    1. Amen – Spot on !!
Psalm 118:8-9 & Ps 1 says the same:

      Psalm 118:8-9
      ————-
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

      Psalm 1:
      ——–
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

  2. Thanks , I have just been looking for information about this subject
for ages and yours is the best I’ve came upon till now.
However, what concerning the conclusion? Are you sure concerning the supply?

    1. Hi Twicsy, Many Thanx for your comment…

I don’t know if I fully understand your question though – but what I can say for sure is – we need to learn to let go of everything we see on earth as are our “anchors” in life…
As all of that can be shaken, and will be shaken, as they are all temporary…and it will disappoint us at some stage or the other…

BUT: Hold on to JESUS ALONE – He knows those who truly TRUST & RELY on Him, and He won’t let you fall…
For If or when we do fall, is because we are like Peter, taking our eyes off the Lord, and let Doubt come in…and then we sink…

As James 1 says – anyone who doubts, is like a wave driven by the wind and tossed – meaning you are only carried up to a point, and then let go in mid-air – and you will fall, and the fall will be hard !!

For as James 1 continues – if we hinge between Doubt and Faith the whole time – we are unstable, and we can’t expect to receive anything from the Lord…

But Heb 11:6 says – when we do come to the Lord, we MUST BELIEVE that He IS (meaning He exists, and He hears us)…and that He is a REWARDER of those who diligently seek Him…

Meaning – when we truly come to Him, believing He hears us, and we don’t doubt, He will REWARD us – by answering our very needs, and every Prayer, and He will help us, carry us, deliver us, in ways we never thought possible…!!

And the only way to get to a life of ONLY FAITH – is to REPENT of all DOUBT and Fear, and trust in anything and anyone we see around us…….
And Lay it down – and make a decision to ONLY TRUST JESUS – and to have one foot in the Kingdom of God, and one foot in the Worldly system….thinking that “In case Jesus doesn’t come through for me – I have some or other backup plan…etc..”… Those backup plans will fail you sometime or the other…

NO: Make a decision – no matter what I ONLY TRUST HIM – and that settles it..!!

Then the above message will make complete sense….

      Hope this helps a bit…

      AMEN !!
